This is a second interview (check out also my first interview with Stefan Pylarinos) I have made with the inspiring Internet entrepreneurs, and this one is really exciting! I have asked Neil Patel few questions about him and his business. If you don’t know who Neil is, you should!
Neil is the co-founder of 2 Internet companies: Crazy Egg and KISSmetrics. He has worked for clients such as Amazon, AOL, GM, HP and Viacom. Neil was also named one of the top influencers on the web according to the Wall Street Journal and one of the top entrepreneurs in the US by Entrepreneur Magazine. What more, he is on the President Obama’s list of a top 100 entrepreneur under the age of 30.
That is really impressive list of accomplishments and I’m sure it’s not end of his successes.
1. Please introduce yourself, who you are, what are you doing?
My name is Neil Patel and I am a serial entrepreneur. I currently spend all my time on my startup, KISSmetrics, which helps you understand how people are engaging with your website and what causes them to spend money with you. During my spare time I blog at Quick Sprout and when I am not working I enjoy hanging out with friends.
2. What is inspiring you?
I really help growing businesses and watching them succeed. It’s almost like a game with a scoreboard… and I want to win. I wake up everyday putting everything I have into KISSmetrics as I feel I can win with that company.
3. What was the beginning? How have you started?
The beginning was around when I was 16 years old. My first business was a job board that no longer exists. I started by going on the web, posting developer ads in forums, and then I hired someone to complete a website for me. Sadly it didn’t ever get built, but I learned a lot from my first web experience.
4. How is your business working now? Is it profitable?
KISSmetrics is doing well. We help companies understand what people are doing on their website and how to improve the metrics that matter most to them. The company isn’t profitable because we want to push more cash into growth, which is working out nicely.
If we wanted to make the business profitable, we could be within a 30 day period.
5. What are current projects you are working on? When we can expect “next big step”?
Nothing other than KISSmetrics. We are working on some cool new KISSmetrics reports and features, but sadly I can’t talk about them yet.
Seeing what Neil has accomplished my motivation for the Internet business and hard work instantly grow. He is a great example how to do business in the professional way. I really recommend reading his blog – Quick Sprout. Materials you can find there are top quality and the case studies he presents are something great to learn from.
Hope you enjoyed the interview. This weekend I will be doing next interview with other great entrepreneur. Better subscribe to my newsletter below to be first who know about it, because it will be a really cool stuff.

Neil is one of the inspirational bloggers and entrepreneurs that I’ve been following the last months.
I love his posts on Quicksprout because they are all case studies.
However, aside from Kissmetrics, I thought he was working on Crazyegg. Am I wrong?

Thanks for this inspirational post
I interview authors, but have also considered interviewing bloggers, but from the perspective that bloggers are in many ways modern day essayists on some topics. Anyway, glad to have found your blog.
I read a post on his blog as to how he managed to increase Techcrunch.com’s revenue by a big margin. Undoubtedly, that was the best tips that I learned so far. Great Man!
